You need central monitoring of over 20 emergency luminaires in a building (e.g. a hotel)? Easily done - with WirelessControl Professional from Schrack Technik.
The WirelessControl Professional makes monitoring and control of self-contained emergency and safety luminaires easy as pie. Only the regular mains power supply of 230 V AC is required to install the light fittings. The subsequent organisation of the network system for light monitoring and control practically takes care of itself.
Every luminaire equipped with WirelessControl Professional can use the 868 MHz frequency, which is approved Europe-wide, to contact other luminaires or the central unit to report is own status and that of other lights registered in the system.
The guaranteed horizontal transmission range within buildings is 30 m (plastic luminaires). The 868 MHz radio frequency ensures that even a reinforced concrete ceiling poses no impassable barrier. The WirelessControl Professional is a CE approved short-range device. It can therefore be used in areas with other sensitive electronic equipment installed.
The wireless system is designed to support 250 devices per central unit (total of all luminaires, repeater and IO boxes in the system) and can be extended up to 1000 in increments of 250. The standard version also includes 5 timer functions and the connection of a second system. Thanks to a novel licensing system the function range can be extended later simply by entering an activation code in the software.
Once per day or week the control centre initiates a function test for all networked luminaires and stores the results. A manual function test can be performed additionally at any time. Error messages can be forwarded by email.
In the Windows based multi-language control software building blueprints can be used to position the registered luminaires, which show their current status. Several of the luminaires available for WirelessControl Professional can be switched by wireless control. This makes it possible to create a schedule in the Control Centre where e.g. the emergency lighting can be completely deactivated in a building which is unused during weekends or to switch it to standby mode.

With the IO box it is possible to send commands to the WirelessControl Professional luminaire network via wireless communication. It is also possible to represent system states with contacts (e.g. for transfer to a BMS). The IO box has a total of 3 floating COs (indication of a collective fault + 2 parameterisable outputs) for the signalling of miscellaneous devices or group states (e.g test in progress, last test failed, maintained luminaires switched to non-maintained, etc.) There are also 2 galvanically isolated switching inputs to incorporate control signals from e.g. an external test switch or key switch. A contact of the IO box can be used to connect the fire alarm system. In the event of fire the switchable luminaires can be activated wirelessly. LEDs indicate the switching states of the inputs and outputs.
