Enclosures with passive ventilation are cooled by natural convection. There is no need for forced ventilation using mechanical fans.
Heated air particles have a lower density. Therefore, they are buoyed up inside the enclosures, causing the air to circulate.
Expert tip: always install two filters of the same size diagonally (e.g. bottom left and top right) in your enclosure. This will give you optimum passive cooling performance.
