UPS systems in the SCHRACK range are classified according to increasing levels of protection. The level of protection is a measure of the performance potential. The higher the protection class, the more things the product can perform and the more options are available.
The POWER NET GUARD program is used for the centralised management of UPS systems via SNMP. It is ideal for the management of medium-sized and larger computer centres or networks. On the basis of the standard MIB RFC 1628, POWERGUARD is able to manage all UPS systems which are integrated into a network via this global standard.
The NetMAN network agent enables the management of UPS systems connected to the LAN directly under application of the most important network communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP and SNMP). It has been developed in order to integrate the UPS in networks with greater reliability in the communication between the UPS and the associated administration systems.
The MutiCOM 301/302 protocol converter enables the UPS to be monitored with the MODBUS/JBUS on serial RS485 or RS232 lines. It also manages the second independent RS232 line which can be used to connect other systems such as NetMan 101 or a PC with PowerShield software.
The IBM AS 400 system requires a connection to a UPS as a matter of course due to its special memory management. One reason is that a voltage drop would lead to erroneous termination and could not be rectified for up to a very long time, alternatively there is a risk of possible hardware damage from interruptions to the electrical supply signal. The OS400 operating system can be correctly switched off with the kit for the connection to the AS 400.
